Two climbers of the Meghalaya Sport Climbing & Mountaineering Association have been selected to undergo the route setters and belayers training course in Itanagar.
Balawanhabor Rynjah, a student from Sankardev College and Ricky Rani from Lad Mawphlang are attending the training organised by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation North East Zone in collaboration with Department of Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh from August 3 to August 7.
The association informed that the two trainees have been financed by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya.
The training program includes comprehensive hands-on sessions where individuals are mastering the skills required for safe and efficient route setting and belaying. These training glimpses highlight the dedication and effort put forth by the trainees and instructors alike, fostering a strong foundation in climbing safety and techniques.
