The state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has praised the central government’s new Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE) scheme, saying it will be of great benefit to Meghalaya.
Projects under this scheme will be undertaken with 100 percent central government funding and the Centre has earmarked Rs 6,600 crore over the next four years.
BJP state president Ernest Mawrie expressed confidence that Meghalaya will be a major beneficiary of this scheme if the party is able to come to power after the upcoming state elections.
