The Voice of the People Party (VPP) has joined the chorus of condemnation against the decision to conclude the celebration of the ensuing Cherry Blossom Festival on a Sunday.
“The VPP strongly condemns the insensitivity of the MDA government to the sentiments of the followers of the Christian faith in the State by fixing the ensuing Cherry Blossom Festival on a Sunday,” VPP spokesman Batskhem Myrboh said in a statement issued today.
“This government has been known for organising programmes on a Sunday even in the past. The party demands that the government should change the dates of the festival,” he added.
