A coordination committee that will take up quick and mutual resolution to ease the problems faced by residents of Mawshbuit and to address security concerns of the army establishment will be constituted.
The decision was taken today during a meeting cum spot inspection conducted by East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, Isawanda Laloo at the 58 Gorkha Training Centre at Happy Valley.
The committee will comprise of a senior magistrate, police officer, adjutant and three representatives of the village. The Superintendent of Police will provide assistance to manage traffic.
While immediate steps would be taken by 58 GTC to ease the difficulties being faced by commuters, shifting of the gate as requested by the village, the Deputy Commissioner has decided to constitute a team to undertake survey and conduct a thorough study of revenue documents and send an appropriate proposal to the government to take up with defence authorities at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commandant of the 58 Gorkha Training Centre, East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Rangbah Shnong and members of Mawshbuit village.
