The Raj Bhavan today observed Martyrs Day in a solemn ceremony wherein all the officers and staff paid a floral tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, a revered figure in India’s struggle for independence.
Gandhi’s unwavering dedication and sacrifices were remembered with deep respect and gratitude.
In his message, Governor of Meghalaya, Phagu Chauhan paid homage to the Father of the Nation, recalling his legacy and honouring the other brave individuals who laid down their lives for the Nation’s independence.
The event, presided over by the Commissioner & Secretary to the Governor, Dr. B D R Tiwari, included him laying a wreath at the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, followed by a brief moment of silence.
