A decomposed body of a man was found in the Umiam river near Nongpathaw bridge.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (City) in a statement today said the body was recovered on September 29 at around 6 pm.
Police said the deceased was about 40-50 years of age. After post mortem examination, the body is kept at the Shillong Civil Hospital morgue for identification and claim.
