Theological colleges in the North East have come together to form an association in response to the volatile situation in Manipur called the North East India Theological Association (NEITA).
The association is led by Dr B.L. Nongbri as the president and Rev. Rosiamliana Tochhawng as the secretary.
Expressing its concern and dismay at the violence meted out to innocent citizens that have resulted in the loss of precious lives and properties, the association said the Manipur government and its administrative machineries to expedite the process of justice to punish perpetrators.
NEITA also condemned the arson attack on the Trulock Theological Seminary, which is one of the prominent members of the association.
While it stands in solidarity with all the people affected in the violence, NEITA said the government should restore properties that have been destroyed and damaged.
Further it also called all citizens of Manipur and the region to work together for a lasting solution and to live together in harmony.
