A man died by suicide on Sunday afternoon after jumping into the water from the main Umiam Lake bridge, the police said. His body was recovered today.
According to the police, the deceased Pritish Deb was a resident of Laban locality and owner of an electronic shop.
The incident occurred around 1:50 pm.
His body was recovered by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Fire & Emergency Services after an extensive search.
Ri Bhoi Police said investigation is underway.
