In another freak accident, a resident of Mindikgre, South Garo Hills, lost his life in a mudslide brought about after he and his brother were cutting earth at a relative’s house in Mondoltilla locality of Tura.
According to sources, Maman Sangma lost his life in the accident at 10am. The earthworks were undertaken in order to expand the house of his relative, Babita Sangma. Maman’s brother, however, managed to escape.
Locals attempted to help but could not retrieve the body, which was finally dug out by State Disaster Response Force personnel.
