A man by the name of Forgive Dkhar has filed an FIR claiming to have been swindled out of Rs 88 lakh in a dubious land deal near Pynthor Bhoilasa village in Ri-Bhoi.
Dkhar said that on August 2, 2023 he bought an 18 acre plot from one Ailynti Lyngdoh for Rs 66 lakh. A few weeks before that he had purchased another plot of land near the other from the same seller for Rs 22 lakh on July 6.
It was only last month, however, on May 15, that Dkhar came to find out that the two pieces of property did not belong to Lyngdoh and were thus not hers to sell.
Authorities are currently investigating the complaint.
