Nongpoh, Aug 7: Ri Bhoi police arrested a man and seized 49.44 grams of heroin today.
The accused was identified as Sirajul Haque (36) of Barpeta, Assam.
Police said the person was riding a scooty bearing registration number ML 10 C 4833. During inspection of the two-wheeler, five soap boxes were found, which later tested positive of heroin.
A criminal case under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been taken up against the person, police said.
