The Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress has castigated the statement of UDP senior leader Paul Lyngdoh for his interference into Congress party’s affairs.
Lyngdoh had stated that the Congress party had to wait for nearly a year to get its state party president and that it had failed in delivering on all fronts.
“The UDP leader must have forgotten that his party was in the earlier Congress-led governments and so, he cannot put the blame on just the Congress but equal responsibility too should be accounted for,” Mahila Congress president Joplin Scott Shylla stated in a press release today.
Shylla lambasted the UDP saying, “They must have forgotten to answer why did they keep quiet on the CAA issue, Sweepers Colony issue even on the alleged electricity scandal that has rocked and burnt a hole in the state exchequer’s pocket.”
On the endless scandals by the MDA coalition, Shylla said, “It is ironic that the very party, which is accusing the Congress of its past, has forgotten that its Cabinet members have been absent and silent from day to day of the state affairs, be it on the subject of the illegal coal transportation, FCI rice scam, coke plants in and around Jaiñtia Hills and many a host of issues seems to have abdicated his seat to the NPP.”
The State Mahila Congress president has asked the people to be wary of the double standards of regional parties, when they come out of power and the people, are the best judge.
