A local bike-taxi aggregator in the city, — Jaiaw Ehrngiew Transport Society (JETS 24X7) has urged the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) not to issue trading licences to outside taxi aggregators.
Jets 24X7 Managing Director, Pynskhemlang W Uriah today met KHADC CEM Pyniaid Sing Syiem with the memorandum.
He said as the KHADC through the United Khasi Jaintia Hills District (Trading by Non-Tribals) Regulation, 1954 (As Amended), Section 3A (1) (b) has the power to grant or refuse a license and as such no trading license should be given to companies from outside the state.
Uriah said Jets 24X7 is aimed at providing employment to the youth of the state, with a motto to “Uplift Our Own” and has availed has availed license to operate as a taxi aggregator in the state from the transport department.
