The Meghalaya Linguistic Minority Development Forum (MLMDF), which aims to work for the welfare of linguistic minorities in the state, was constituted at a meeting held today.
The meeting was presided over by Shiladitya Deb, the forum’s chairman. The chief guest on the occasion was Raktimava Swamy from an NGO in Assam called Live and Let Live. The meeting was attended by several executive members from linguistic minority communities and other dignitaries.
Sushit Kanti Choudhury was elected president and Dr Bishnu Choudhury general secretary of the forum and they will be supported by nine vice-presidents and nine joint secretaries. Dayanand Kumar Singh was elected as the treasurer and the advisory board is headed by Jagganath Koirala.
