Shillong, Oct 19: The Voice of the People Party’s Rambrai Jyrngam unit conducted an inspection of the health centre at Rimuliang, the Langpih sub-centre and Nonglang primary health centre recently.
The inspection revealed that the Langpih sub-centre, which was completed in 2023, has not been made functional due to lack of electricity, water supply and other essential requirements.
The VPP team met with the Doctor-in-charge of the sub-centre, who highlighted the difficulties faced due to insufficient manpower and inadequate medical supplies. The Nonglang PHC also faces similar challenges, resulting in patients being referred to Nongstoin (35km away) or Shillong.
The VPP team was also informed that the ambulance at the Nonglang PHC is not in good condition, despite repeated complaints to the government.
The VPP urged the government to expedite the provision of necessary resources to improve healthcare services.
