Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across the country as well as ICAR institutes will begin a 15-day Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan campaign starting May 29 to educate and create awareness among farmers about modern technology and new seed varieties.
Union Minister for Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that the campaign will be held till June 12.
As part of the initiative, agricultural scientists, ministry officials and staff will form teams with local agricultural workers to visit different villages each day and communicate directly with farmers, offer practical advice, and raise awareness on various agricultural issues. This effort aims to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Lab to Land” vision—ensuring that scientific research and innovations reach farmers’ fields.
This campaign also marks a step forward toward the broader goal of “One Nation, One Agriculture, One Team”, while promoting modern and model farming practices.
A high-level meeting was held in Delhi under the leadership of Chouhan to prepare for the campaign. The meeting included representatives from 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), over 100 ICAR institutions, agricultural research bodies, and senior officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare. The meeting was conducted in a hybrid format.
