The KHNAM State Youth Wing has asked the State government to conduct a swift investigation on the reported emission of high radiation at Nongbah Jynrin village in South West Khasi Hills.
KHNAM youth wing president Thomas Passah said that the investigation should be done by an independent team of experts which should also include the economist Bremley Wanbantei B. Lyngdoh.
Stating that the report of high radiation at Nongbah Jynrin village Hills District is a matter of great concern, Passah said, “We have seen that the authorities have given a different statement based on the report of the local police who have visited the spot after the alarm was raised.”
“After more than three decades, rusting of pipes and development of cracks in such tanks cannot be ruled out. Therefore, the party strongly demands swift investigation on the matter which should be done by an independent team of experts,” he added.
