The Khliehriat Civil Hospital in East Jaintia Hills, which has been functioning under various constraints, now hopes to deliver quality healthcare services to the patients with the inauguration of a large number of advanced machines and equipment.
The upgrades added to the hospital are a modern laboratory with 11 advanced machines where over 142 tests can be conducted, digital X-Ray machines, Video Endoscopy System with advanced imaging abilities that aims to provide much needed boost to ENT care, Mechanized Washer Extractor that will enable the hospital to vastly improve infection control.
While the lab and a conference hall were procured through funds generated by the hospital, the other equipments were made available through the initiative of the district administration under CSR of HDFC Foundation, District Mineral Fund and North East Transmission Company CSR.
An ambulance procured through the District Mineral Fund by the district administration was also inaugurated to offer better assistance to patients especially to provide referral services to Shillong and Guwahati. Earlier, the Khliehriat Civil Hospital could only transport patients till Jowai.
The inauguration function was attended by MLAs Kyrmen Shylla and Santa Mary Shylla as guests in the presence of East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal, DM&HO Dr D. Shylla, Branch Manager of HDFC Bank Khliehriat Chiranjib Talukdar, Branch Sales Manager Justine Pala, former MLA Justine Dkhar and others.
