Case filed with cyber crime against youtuber
Rajya Sabha MP Wanwei Roy Kharlukhi has lodged a complaint with the cyber crime over claims of corruption against a YouTube channel named ‘RS Kharbani’.
According to Kharlukhi, the youtuber had claimed that he stole the funds from the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).
Kharlukhi said he welcomes any kind of investigation and would resign as an MP and even politics, if he was involved in corruption in implementing the scheme.
“If anybody has proof and if anybody publishes it in the press, I will write to the government and ask for a CBI enquiry and I am ready to go to jail,” the MP challenged.
He said a new system has been adopted in the release of the MP scheme, whereby the Parliament directly sanctions it to the district officers and to the BDOs.
Kharlukhi said that the Rs 5 crore sanctioned under MP scheme for 2022-2023 was implemented and the amount for the current year has reached the beneficiaries. The delay was due to the general elections to the Lok Sabha, he added.
Further he said any allegations of corruption, an individual must have the right facts and figures.
