The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) paid tributes to the departed sitting MDC Latiplang Kharkongor and two former members, Hadrian Lyngdoh and Plaslanding Iangjuh on the first day of the winter session here today.
KHADC Chief Executive Member Pyniaid Sing Syiem said the loss of the three leaders is a significant blow to the council. He extended his condolences to the families and said that their demise has left a substantial vacuum.
Opposition Leader Titosstarwell Chyne noted that the records indicated that all three departed leaders were highly respected during their time.
He recalled that Kharkongor, who was also a former Chief Executive Member, was a dynamic individual deeply concerned about the welfare of his constituents.
