The Committee on Welfare of Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and Other Backward Classes of the Meghalaya Assembly welcomed its sister committee from Kerala here today.
The visiting delegation was met by Amlarem MLA Lahkmen Rymbui, the Chairperson of the Meghalaya committee, committee members Dadenggre MLA Rupa M Marak and Nongstoin MLA Gabriel Wahlang and senior civil servants.
The Kerala delegation was led by Acting Chairman A Prabhakaran and members Kurukkoli Moideen, KK Ramachandran, G Stephen, TJ Vinod and K Babu.
The meeting fostered discussions on welfare initiatives, best practices and opportunities for collaboration between the two state legislatures in the area of welfare for STs, SCs and OBCs.
