Thanks to a string of successful results, Saralin Rynghang, a karateka of the All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association (AMKA), has been selected to participate in trials for the upcoming Asian Games.
The trials will be conducted by the Sports Authority of India and Indian Olympic Association in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou, China, this September.
Rynghang is aiming to represent the country in the -50kg individual kumite event for women.
She had won a bronze medal at last year’s All India Karate Championship in Chhattisgarh and a gold medal at the 2nd North East Olympic Games 2022 in Shillong.
Yesterday, she also won a gold medal at the India Open 2023 in New Delhi.
Through a press release today, AMKA wished Rynghang well for the trials.
