The General Manager of Brahmaputra Board A. Kumar along with Ranikor MLA Pius Marwein and officers of the Central Water Commission, Shillong today visited three villages that are facing threat from erosion.
Mawshaliah, Moilam B and Jamaduar villages under South West Khasi Hills have been facing fury of the Umngi river in the monsoon season.
Therefore, to protect these villages bordering the river, an inspection was conducted at the sites where walls are being constructed.
The inspection was to gather opinions and suggestions from residents who had expressed dissatisfaction with the construction of the wall.
