Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today handed over Rs 40 crore as advance share of royalty from coal to the Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).
The sanction order was handed over to Chief Executive Member Thombor Shiwat during his first visit to the district council office in Jowai in the presence of deputy chief ministers Prestone Tynsong and Sniawbhalang Dhar and other cabinet ministers.
Shiwat thanked the government for releasing the share and said this will enable the district council to pay the salary of its employees, which is pending for 12 months.
