NEHU Vice Chancellor Prof. P.S. Shukla today interacted with participants of the one month Vritika Research Internship sponsored by the Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology at the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU).
Altogether five participants from across the country have joined the programme at NEHU from August 1 till tomorrow. The programme was organized by the Department of Biomedical Engineering, NEHU on the theme “Development of Innovative Healthcare Devices”.
Programme Coordinator, Dr. Dinesh Bhatia highlighted the importance of the internship and how it would help in shaping the young researchers to take up entrepreneurship and innovation in rapidly changing healthcare sector. He stressed on embracing the path of innovation in the MedTech industry that makes the products and solutions tailored made for the country’s opportunities and constraints.
He also thanked all resource persons and staff members involved in imparting the Vritika Internship programme.
The Vice Chancellor highlighted what opportunities exist for young minds to visit NEHU and how they can spread the knowledge and expertise gained during the month long training to the outside and in their respective institutes.
Registrar, Dr. Saurabh Dixit stressed upon the role of innovation in healthcare technology which was felt during COVID pandemic and how it is shaping up in the modern times.
