The seventh edition of the India-France joint military exercise, SHAKTI, concluded today at the Foreign Training Node in Umroi, Ri-Bhoi.
This biennial exercise, which began on May 13, showcased a wide array of warfare equipment from both nations’ forces.
The exercise, held alternately in India and France, aims to enhance military cooperation and interoperability. The Indian contingent, primarily from the Rajput Regiment, and the French contingent, mainly from the 13th Foreign Legion Half-Brigade (13th DBLE), each comprised 90 personnel.
The 14-day exercise focused on joint training, combat power and multi-domain operations. It was divided into two phases: combat conditioning and tactical training, followed by a 48-hour training validation. The event concluded with a grand ceremony featuring cultural exchanges.
