The Indian Air Force (IAD) is conducting a cycling expedition from Shillong to Mechuka in Arunachal Pradesh to commemorate Air Force Day.
Air Marshal SP Dharkar, Air Officer Commanding in Chief of Eastern Air Command flagged off the cycling expedition today.
The team is led by Group Captain Amit Goel. The team will pedal a distance of 1550Kms from Shillong to Mechuka over the next seven days and will cover an altitude of approx 6000ft AMSL.
The expedition aims to promote the spirit of comradeship, team work and adventure amongst air warriors, a defence statement said.
