West Garo Hills (WGH) police from Garobadha today seized one pickup truck with illegally packed timber, which had apparently made an attempt to hide from authorities by hiding in various locations.
The vehicle, as per information, had been parked behind a temple in the village where it was chanced upon by some locals. Information of the presence of the vehicle was provided to forest and police authorities after which an effort to locate the vehicle was made.
The vehicle was seen without registration plates and was apparently on its way to Assam with the loaded timber.
“The vehicle was found near Garodubi after initially hiding in Garobadha itself. We have handed the vehicle along with the timber to the forest department for further action,” West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police Dr MGR Kumar said.
