Shillong, May 29: IIM Shillong inaugurated the 8th batch of its Doctoral Programme for Working Professionals (PhDWP) and the 7th batch of the Post Graduate Programme for Working Executives (PGPWE) recently.
Director in charge of IIM Shillong, Prof. Naliniprava Tripathy welcomed participants and reflected on the institute’s legacy of nurturing ethical leadership. She emphasised the importance of collaboration, empathy, and continuous learning in today’s dynamic business environment. Participants were encouraged to embrace these values in their pursuit of responsible leadership.
IIM Calcutta Director Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, who attended the ceremony as the chief guest, underscored the importance of aligning management education with industry realities, stressing the significance of research-driven strategies in modern management.
Vice President and Head – Membership and Outreach, NASSCOM Srikanth Srinivasan from NASSCOM and Dheeraj Gaur from Arete Capital Services echoed similar sentiments, highlighting innovation, accountability, and the need for visionary leadership in navigating the evolving global landscape.
The PhDWP batch comprises 20 participants from diverse backgrounds, while the PGPWE program includes 87 participants from various sectors. The ceremony concluded with an oath administered by faculty members, inspiring the participants to fully leverage their academic and professional journey at IIM Shillong.
