A day-long training programme on ‘Livestock and Poultry Farming with Improved Breeds’ was held today at Umsaitphrah village in Ri-Bhoi.
This event was organised by ICAR KVK Ri-Bhoi in collaboration with the FXB NGO and aimed to enhance the farming practices of 30 local farmers by introducing advanced techniques and improved breeds for livestock and poultry.
The training covered topics such as modern breeding practices, optimal nutrition and disease management. Experts from ICAR KVK Ri-Bhoi conducted in-depth sessions on selecting high-yield breeds and managing their care, while FXB addressed community-specific needs and the practical application of these techniques.
Interactive sessions featured hands-on demonstrations, enabling farmers to directly apply their new knowledge.
This collaborative effort is an attempt to modernise agriculture in Ri-Bhoi in order to improve farming efficiency and livelihoods. It is hoped that the programme will drive sustainable agricultural practices and contribute positively to the region’s economic development, a press release stated today.
