Shillong, Oct 18: Members of the Hynñiewtrep Youths’ Council-Central Executive Council (HYC-CEC) today distributed pamphlets on how to maintain and preserve the natural beauty and delicate ecosystem of Sohra and the Khasi-Jaintia Hills region.
The HYC’s Environment Cell shared pointers with visitors on how to dispose of waste responsibly, respecting environment and customs, using eco-friendly products, and keeping public areas clean.
It urged visitors to avoid littering, damaging flora and fauna, polluting water bodies, removing natural materials, using public roads for cooking, picnic, and dining.
The HYC urged visitors to “explore with purpose, protect with passion” and to “take only memories, leave only footprints” in the region.
