The Seng Samla of Hima Langrin will hold a public meeting at Phlangdiloin on September 13 to clarify land compensation to the tune of Rs 4.30 crore that was split evenly between Hima Langrin and the Management Board of Law Lyngngam Tilla and Pyndentanglieh.
Speaking to reporters yesterday, PS Lyngdoh said that an RTI revealed that compensation had been paid to the two parties for acquisition of land for fencing along the Indo-Bangladesh border from the Kolagaon River to the western side of Jadukata River.
The exact amount each side received was Rs 2,15,28,256.50.
Lyngdoh also said that the RTI states that both parties have submitted a letter to share the compensation in two equal halves and that there has been no challenge.
However, the Seng Samla leader is of the opinion that the existence of double authority in the hima is illegal and he urged the district council to take action and intervene in the matter.
