Health Minister, AL Hek today met Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in Delhi and sought funds to strengthen health infrastructure in the State.
During the meeting, Hek briefed the minister about Covid situation in Meghalaya while underlining the need to address social determinants of health at the village and block levels.
Delay in appointment of a permanent Director of NEIGRIHMS and as well as the board members of the governing body in the institute was taken up.
Hek suggested the Union Health Minister to increase the number of medical seats and to appoint more medical specialists in NEIGRIHMS.
Hek also met Union Ayush Minister, Sarbananda Sownowal with a proposal to set up the directorate of AYUSH that would cost Rs 3.84 crore. He also proposed creation of posts at in government health centres.
