Shillong, Jan 13: The Dilma Adap Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centre was formally inaugurated today by Kharkutta MLA Rupert Momin.
The facility is meant to enhance primary healthcare access for citizens of Dilma Adap and neighbouring villages under the central government’s Ayushman Bharat initiative.
The centre aims to deliver comprehensive primary healthcare including maternal and child health services, non-communicable disease screening, basic diagnostics, essential medicines, health promotion activities and tele-consultation facilities.
Momin stated that the newly inaugurated sub-centre will significantly improve the overall health care of the people in the region. Emphasising the importance of safe childbirth practices, the MLA appealed to women to opt for institutional deliveries to reduce maternal and infant health risks.
North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Saini lauded the efforts of the Health Department for establishing a sub-centre in such a remote location.
