The Meghalaya High Court has closed and disposed of the writ petition of suspended MPS officer Gabriel K. Iangrai.
It may be noted that Iangrai had moved the High Court challenging the disciplinary proceeding against him in the alleged scam in the Police Department.
During today’s hearing of the writ petition by Justice Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew, Additional Advocate General N D Chullai told the court that the documents which have been sought by Iangrai documents are under investigation and the copies have since been provided to the charged officer under Section 207 CrPC.
With regard to copies of all the stock register which has not been furnished to Iangrai, it was reported that these materials have been seized by the Investigation Officer and the details are to be verified.
Chullai further said that it is not known if these documents are part of the case itself.
Iangrai’s lawyer Philemon Nongbri also told the court that in the meanwhile the examination of all the witnesses has since been concluded.
“In this view of the matter, nothing survives for consideration in the present case, as such, the same is closed and disposed of,” the High Court said in its order.
