The Hynniewtrep A’chik National Movement (HANM) in a letter to Home Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has urged for a Fire and Emergency Service Station at Patharkhmah.
HANM Western Ri-Bhoi said that Patharkhmah has developed rapidly and witnessed a growth in population and a fire station is of utmost importance because the nearest emergency service is in Nongpoh.
Meanwhile, the organisation also urged Tynsong, who also holds the Public Works Department (Roads) portfolio, to create a road scheme for the Mawdem-Belahari-Rajakhomai-Mowdongki villages on the border with Assam, which have been neglected up until now.
The pressure group also urged Tynsong to set up a police outpost at Balakhawa village to instill a sense of safety and security in the villagers there and address border conflict in the area.
