The Garoland State Movement Committee (GSMC) has raised strong objection against the declaration of Meghalaya Police Service (MPS) Mains Examination and the decision by the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) to conduct the personal interview on July 25.
“Not long ago the result of Mains Examination was declared and only 27 candidates were selected for the personal interview whereas the total number of posts given in the advertisement on August 2, 2019 is 17,” the GSMC said.
“At present the commission has selected only 27 candidates for personal interview whereas it should be 42.5 candidates. We would like to know where are the other 15.5 candidates who are missing from the list for personal interview?” it asked.
Questioning the various alleged anomalies in the entire MPS recruitment process, the GSMC asked the MPSC to display the candidates’ application number, roll number, name and category (Garo/Khasi-Jaintia) and OST.
It also said that the commission should follow the principle/policy followed as per decision made on July 28, 2017 with variation from 1:10 to 1:2.5.
Demanding that all the 42.5 candidates be called for the personal interview, the GSMC also said that the proposed personal interview on August 20 and 21 should be postponed.
