Governor Brig BD Mishra (retd) has formally notified eight areas in the Greater Shillong area as ‘city centre zones’, which will put them under the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) as far as building by-laws are concerned.
The eight areas are Nongthymmai, Madanrting, Golflink, New Shillong Township, Rynjah, Lapalang, Garikhana, Ïew Mawlong and Demseiniong.
The notification has been made as per section D8.1 of the Meghalaya Building By Laws 2021.
The KHADC’s Khasi Hills Building and Structure Regulatory Authority (KHBSRA) is in charge of building by-laws.
