Gumaghat Police Outpost in South West Khasi Hills has temporarily been closed after one of the officials there tested positive for Covid-19, Assistant Inspector General of Police GK Iangrai informed today.
All officials in the outpost have been placed under medical observation and all responsibilities of the outpost have been transferred to Ranikor Police Station.
The outpost is being disinfected and once will reopen once it has been declared fit for reoccupation. The general public residing within the jurisdiction of the outpost are requested to approach Ranikor PS for any urgent requirement or assistance, he added.
Meanwhile, the Pynursla CHC was also shut down today after its staff was tested positive for Covid-19.
Additional deputy commissioner in charge of Pynursla Civil sub-division, D. Hynniewta in an order said that the health centre will be closed till October 4 for contact tracing and sanitisation.
