The Garo Students’ Union (GSU), Maheskola regional unit in South Garo Hills has written to the manager of Reliance Jio, seeking the immediate activation of two towers in the villages of Upper Nekora and Upper Pasgaon.
In a letter today, the GSU members stated that the towers in these two villages had been completely constructed more than three years ago but lay unused and in-operational.
“This has led to the people of the area, including students, facing tremendous hardships in communication and studies. They are unable to use the internet to learn their school activities. We seek the immediate activation of the JIO network in these two areas for the sake of the people of the area,” said Tirotsing Marak, president of the unit.
