Editor,
The recently concluded Centennial celebration commemorating the coming of the Salesians in 1922 marked a very important point in the state and the entire North East as well.
It was so enthusiastic to see the youths performing in various entertainment items however what caught the attention of the crowd was the awesome performance of St. Anthony’s College music department combining a range of folk string and wind instruments and percussions along with western instruments.
It was a very beautiful experiment of fusion music depicted in the most precise yet innovative performance and as a musician myself I felt it was the best form of skills, talents and practice.
The State has a lot of such budding talents and together with such institutions such youngsters should be given a suitable platform at the regional and even national level.
