The A’chik Conscious Holistically Integrated Krima (ACHIK) has written to the Block Development Officer of Baghmara to complain that many Gram Sevaks under the BDO’s jurisdiction have left their allotted quarters unoccupied and are staying at the BDO office, making it difficult for the public who want to meet them.
Gram Sevaks play a role in implementing rural development programmes and schemes. “Their presence in the village is essential for effective implementation and addressing public concerns,” ACHIK’s southern unit said. “However, their absence from their allotted quarters hinders their ability to serve the public efficiently.”
It is not all the Gram Sevaks’ fault, though, as some of their quarters are in need of repairs and should be dutifully maintained, ACHIK said.
