Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) EM Carnes Sohshang has informed that the state government is yet to release the basic (untied) grant for 2021-2022 and 2022-2023
He also informed that the second instalment of the tied grant for 2021-2022 and tied grant for 2022-2023 under the 15th Finance Commission are also yet to be sanctioned.
The EM told the house today that the executive committee has also taken up the matter with the state government and the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. He further informed that the first installment of the tied grant 2021-22 of more than Rs 18.22 crore was received by the district council.
Meanwhile, funds for procurement of garbage trucks, donated to some localities was spent from the tied grant as part of the KHADC Solid Management Act, he informed.
