Shillong, Oct 24: For public convenience and better administration, the Government of Meghalaya has created a new Police Station at Dakopgre in the West Garo Hills District to be known as Dakopgre Police Station.
The areas coming under its jurisdiction shall cease to be under Tura Police Station. The boundaries of Dakopgre Police Station are Damalgre PS, South West Garo Hills District in the North, Babadam OP in the East, Tura PS in the South and Araimile PS in the West.
Additionally, the government has also created new Police Outposts at Maweit in West Khasi Hills District to be known as Maweit Police Outpost, Ashugre in South Garo Hills District to be known as Ashugre Police Outpost and at Jadi in South Garo Hills District to be known as Jadi Police Outpost.
The boundaries of Maweit Police Outpost are Nongstoin PS and Mawshynrut PS in the North, Mawkyrwat PS, South West Khasi Hills District in the East, Nonghyllam PS, South West Khasi Hills District in the South and Shallang PS in the West.
The boundaries of Ashugre Police Outpost are Digranggre village under Sangknigre PS in the North, Deku village under Chokpot PS in the East, Rimrangpara village under Dalu PS, West Garo Hills District in the South and Sandong village under Sangknigre PS in the West.
The boundaries of Jadi Police Outpost are Rongdong village under Siju PS in the North, Darang Boldak village under Nongalbibra PS in the East, Pattalgittim village under Nongalbibra PS in the South and Simsang river and Rangram Pattal village under Shallang PS, West Khasi Hills District in the West.
