The state government today held a detailed review of all the projects that are being implemented by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL).
The meeting, which lasted around three hours, was attended by officials from all departments concerned, all the Deputy Commissioners and contractors tasked with carrying out the projects.
Briefing mediapersons, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that each contractor has been told to give a deadline on the respective works.
“We have asked them about the problems that they’re facing. And based on that, we have asked the officials to resolve those issues,” the CM said. “Now we will be continuously monitoring this because this (the dry season) is the working season and we do not want to lose this time. And therefore, all the important projects that are being implemented by NHIDCL, we have gone through each one of them.”
The difficulties faced by different projects in some areas include land acquisition, forest clearance, utility shifting, etc.
