The start of the night time curfew in Greater Shillong will begin two hours earlier from Tuesday, the state government has decided.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma held a review meeting of the Covid-19 situation in the state today, with Deputy CM Prestone Tynsong, Health Minister AL Hek, Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui and Chief Secretary MS Rao among those present.
It was decided that curfew will run from 8 pm to 5 am from tomorrow evening in the Greater Shillong area. All shops in this area will have to close by 7 pm as well. All offices will have to end work by 4:30pm too.
With regards to the burial or cremation of dead bodies, the government has directed that last rites be completed by 2pm. This particular order will come into force immediately and will apply to all deaths no matter the cause, whether Covid-19 or not, across Meghalaya.
