Shillong, Jun 29: The state government has assured full support for the Golden Jubilee edition of the Hundred Drums Wangala Festival, scheduled for November 12-14, 2026.
Members of the Hundred Drums Wangala Festival Committee, led by Chairman Ronald Rikman Sangma, met Tourism Minister Timothy D. Shira today to discuss infrastructure and logistics for the milestone event.
The Committee presented various requirements needed for the celebration of the festival’s 50th year since its inception in 1976.
Welcoming the delegation, Shira said the government will extend all possible assistance to make the golden jubilee anniversary of the 100-Drums Wangala Festival a grand success.
The festival, usually held in the second week of November, is one of Meghalaya’s most prominent cultural events and will complete 50 years this year.
