Meghalaya Governor, Satya Pal Malik today visited Sohra and interacted with government officials of the Civil- Sub Division.
Sub-Divisional Officer, AS Mukhim briefed the Governor on the formation of Sohra, the number of blocks, population and literacy rate which stands at 74 per cent.
He also apprised the Governor on the status of primary education, the centrally sponsored schemes and the different livelihoods activities carried out by the people in the area and the different varieties of flora and fauna found under the Sohra Civil Sub-Division.
Later in the day, the Governor visited Ramakrishna Mission, Sohra and interacted with the students.
