The All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers’ Association (AGHSSASTA) has decided to continue its boycott of teacher duties until their pending salaries are cleared by the government.
In a statement today, publicity secretary of AGHSSASTA, Bunbunbirth Marak, said that, to date, they have not received any response from the state government about their five months’ in arrears.
AGHSSASTA members have boycotted their duties since March 14 and will continue to do so until the government responds.
“We cannot trust the MDA (Meghalaya Democratic Alliance) government under Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, who is irresponsible and has failed to hear the grievances of the SSA teachers,” Marak said.
