A resident of Bangalkata, in the Phulbari constituency of Garo Hills, has written to the media directly to highlight the appalling road conditions in his village.
Tauqer Hassan said that the people of Bangalkata are facing “severe struggles” due to “the deplorable condition of our roads.”
Hassan included photos in his complaint. “The roads in our area are in a dire state, riddled with numerous potholes that are filled with mud water and clay, especially during the monsoon season,” he explained. “These conditions make the roads nearly unmotorable, posing significant risks to the safety and well-being of residents. The situation has severely impacted daily commuting, transportation of goods, and access to essential services.”
He urged the authorities to take immediate action to repair and maintain these roads to alleviate the suffering of the people in Bangalkata.
